| There have been few country stars as popular, and as loved, as the "Coal Miner's Daughter." Lynn's fans lived her life along with her—an ongoing soap opera that included enduring a childhood of poverty, achieving a dramatic rise to stardom, and fighting depression. Hollywood made a movie about her life in 1980 with Sissy Spacek in the starring role. And Lynn had dozens of top-ten hits, many of which she wrote herself, such as "Don't Come Home a Drinkin' (with Lovin' on Your Mind)," "Your Squaw is on the Warpath," "You Ain't Woman Enough (to Take My Man)" and, of course, her signature "Coal Miner's Daughter." |
