Spring at Rock Creek, Tributary of the Nolan River, near Blum
I mumbled an apology to the landowner promising to be quick about it and dropped my camera pack on the other side of the barbed wire fence. The public park was to the right but I was pulled to the left where still water lay against a limestone bluff. I headed up Rock Creek to a small tributary in an inviting, delicate limestone canyon. After scrambling around the narrow plunge pool to a rock peninsula with miniature canyons on either side I found the pay off, a beautiful spring-fed, knobby studded limestone canyon that fed into Rock Creek. |
