Henry Lautz (b. 1941) lives in New York state, and I knew him
when I showed his photography back in the early days of Afterimage
Gallery. We lost touch until recently, and he is still producing
beautiful, sensitive landscape imagery. He has shown with Laura Gilpin
and Eliot Porter, and he has been in shows at over 25 galleries and
museums. In 1980, he was one of 100 people invited by President Carter
to celebrate the 10th anniversity of Earth Day. He has taught at art
schools and universities and became Executive Director of The
Appalachiam Trail Conference. He studied at various universities,
including the Sorbonne in Paris and has a Master's Degree from Georgia
State University. Here
is his artist statement. ______________________________________________________________________
