Jacques Henri Lartigue (1894-1986) was one of the most unique French photographers of the last century. He received his first camera when he was seven, and through the ensuing years, he has provided a joyful and charming look at the Parisian leisure class. His photographic fame didn't come until the early 1960s, at which time the Museum of Modern Art began acquiring his work. Until then he had been primarily known for his painting. The images below are from a show held in the fall of 2015. The show included both signed and posthumous estate prints, including some color and platinum works, never before shown in a gallery exhibition. The prints below are described as in the show but are often available as either signed or estate prints. Larger image files can be emailed to you upon request. Prices and availability are subjecgt to change, especially since these images are from a show of several years back! |
